A glimpse into our Curriculum

What is Flavour?

Little chefs learn what ‘flavour’ means, and how we eat with ALL of our senses.

They play our Flavour Game “Guess the Ingredient” identifying ingredients using only their sense of smell!

What’s On Your Plate?

Little chefs learn about the macro and micro nutrient requirements of our bodies, and how to create a balanced meal.

They design their own lunchboxes while balancing all the essential nutrients.

Food Label Reading

Little chefs learn how to read food labels and practice reading labels of packaged foods in class.

They build a Sugar Board to better understand how much hidden sugar is present in packaged foods and drinks.

Food Stories & Memories

To understand the emotional value of food, little chefs share their own food stories: their favourite meal at nani’s house, a failed cooking experiment at home, a fruit whose season they look forward to every year, or how their food preferences have been changing over time.

And together we cook a traditional Indian recipe that represents the essence of a community.

At Flavour Lab, we cook with a variety of whole foods.

We are plant-forward, and always strive to use local, organic and seasonal ingredients.
